View Full Version : Jeanne d'Arc
Hi everyone,
I have been reading The Guild for a while but this is my first post. I had this game and VI for a while, but I keep getting stuck on the French Historical Campaign. The second one where you have to assault the english castle. Can anyone please give me any tips or point me to the right links?
Thanks.

Hi, Welcome to the Org m4rt14n http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
I too have had massive trouble with this campaign as you simply cannot win by force of arms.
Now the objective for victory lies in getting at least 100 Men into the central Keep area, so my advice would be to blast as many holes in the wall as you can and then rush them from all sides... Get your 100 Men into the middle and try and avoid Jeanne d'Arc being routed
(Your cavalry is probably the best bet of success, they have the mobility to run around the enemy into the middle... Try not to get bogged down in battle if you can help it)
Its a very tough mission as the English are everywhere, watch out for the enemies behind your lines when you start

The_Emperor is completelly right. In my opinion the French Historical Campaign 2nd battle is the hardest of ALL the Historical Battles and Campaigns. I've tried +10 times and only made it one time
The_Emperor's strategy is the most corrrect one. Blow those walls away without worring about the towers. Then rush your men inside trying to surprise the garrison. But before that eliminate the English exterior troops. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

After my tenth attempt I gave up and putted the limit ammo of http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif , for the only time ever. Then it was easy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif, but my cannons had a tendecy to blow up http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif and only one survived the battle.
I use pause very rarely. only when I get mass charged by some psycho french army :/
Hmm...I wasn't aware you could pause in this game. I thought the only game that did that was BG,BGII, IWD I and II. In my opinion, the last battle w/ Richard the Lionheart vs. Saladin is the hardest. I found w/ Jean, I just moved the majority of my army against one of their smaller sections and that won the battle like the barbarossa one.
