Question About Ships! PLEASE HELP!!!

What ship do I use to transport soldiers and stuff. When and how do I get it. Thanks later.

You can use any ship, have you read the manual?
You dont load the men onto ships, you make a chain of ships and then you can transport any number of throops between the provinces that are linked to the chain, hope I explained it well, otherwise PM me.

If you are transporting troops around your empire, you will need a Port in the destination province and another one in the source province. An unbroken chain of ships needs to link them (with no enemy ships in the way).

You can do a naval invasion of other lands and the destination doesn't need a port to do this, however if its an island your army will be trapped there until a port is built to allow them to gain access to their ships. (the Vikings do not suffer from this and do not need a Port to board their Longboats)

Do NOT send your king to head up an island invasion such as this... Because if he gets isolated like that, your subjects will suddenly feel very rebellious

to go from Province A to province B, u need a port in province A, ships in lanes to B, and there should be no ships belonging to the faction that controls B in the sea lnaes if u're invading. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

ok so im england and wanna take Ireland. They have no port though. Give me a scinerio if you would. Thanks again

Press V and you will see all about the free and blockaded sea regions. To build ships you will need Shipyards - figures, right? Also, you'll need ports in you provinces and, as our esteemed member The_Emperor said, be careful not to send your king on an island conquering mission, you'll probably destroy the port in your conquest and will need to wait four turns to rebuild it, during which you are stuck on that island.

PS as said, this doesn't goes for Vikings.
