Yello.
I'm playing with MTW 1.1 (no VI , yet) and have wesmod 1.85 installed.

Just wondering if theres any way of modding the game so that my Byzantine leaders and heirs become pronoai allagion or byz. cavalry instead of kataphractoi.

also is there a way to increase the type or mercs you can get in an inn?

thanx in advance.

Making a little mod so that Byzantines in 1205 only start with Nicaea, which i believe is more historically accurate,
and makes the game more of a challenge too. I also gave Constantinople to the Italians and took away genoa and corsica.

I'm also making kataphracts and trebizond archers really hard to build (fortress requirment at least), and taking away byz. infantry (or maybe find some way of giving them a spear instead of a sword, renaming them Skutatoi, and also make them really hard to build). Maybe rename byz. cavalry kataphractoi.

You can change a faction leader unit.
Open unit_prod file with GnomeEditor, in column 49 you can assign leader units for all factions.

If I recall correctly, you can even edit these "on the fly" with GnomeEditor (ie, you can change them even after starting the campaign). So you could theoretically start the game as say Duke of Normandy with Feudal Knights as your King's unit, and then change it to Royal Knights after conquering England?

Has anyone compiled a list (or can just tell me) which editable items must be changed before starting a campaign, and which can be changed after start?

For example, from what I saw before VI, you can still change Province & Capital/Castle names (in names.txt) after the campaign starts. The same is true of unit stats using GnomeEditor?
