I'm not one for huge battles. I can take them but I would like to limit the battles to 16 units MAX. Is there anyway I can edit my game so that reinforcements are NOT ALLOWED. So that way the battles will be a bit smaller in scale and be quicker in terms of length.

First of all i do not know if what you ask is possible or not. I am here to point something out though.

If you do find a way to restrict the reinforcements then it is going to limit AIs ability severely. Often times it is possible to beat huge AI armies with just a handful of relentless, bloodthirsty warrior elite of your Empire. So the AI will be severely hampered by having only 16 units deployed since it cannot think like a human and thus cannot effectively use its 16 units in a combined and decisive way like a human can.

Unless you find a way to improve AIs tactical or strategic capabilitites (or both, preferably), I would not recommend on restricting the reinforcements.

You do have a point. I've killed the general early in a battle once and made his first 16 units flee. All 5 after that appeared, then just fled.

I dont want to hamper the AI but those very large battles can get tedious for me. That's why I love how for Rome Total War you control your 20 units, u can have more but the ai has em. Thats cool. I wish my troops where smarter on their own, you know?

I dont think you can disable reinforcements.
I suggest you ask this question in the Alchemist Lab.
