Alright who took my online name!

Loaded up Medieval which I can fianlly play online. Put in MY NAME as MiniKiller and guess what..ITS IN USE All right who took it. This is no cool its been my name since Shogun Total War Pre expansion....grrrrrr.

Same thing happened to me Minikiller, I think it's caused by previously registering with Gamespy.

Try Logging into Gamespy without starting the game and then join one of their online games. It should start MTW automatically, if it doesn't work restart your game and go to online games and the name there should be the one you want, it's amended when you started with gamespy, and it should work. Well, it did for me anyway, good luck.

I think nobody "took" your name. You must enter the whole registration form again...took me 2 hours to figure that out. Gamespy is not very user friendly.

The whole thing? But ifit has minikiller already on file wont it say mine is wrong? gaahhh gamespy gahhh.

That name you register is for all of GameSpy and not just for MTW/VI. I don't know, but Activision may be purging unused names from their name database periodically, and then someone else can use that name for any game played on GameSpy.

Nobody has taken your name it's just that you already have it but re-registering causes a hiccup.

Kas.....I tried doing that thing ( fill whole caboosh) but it still didn't want to know. I only wanted to change my email address...to keep their data base up to date.
Now you see me online with an.....I.....after my name.
It was the only way that GS would let me in.
