Multiplayer with VI addon

Hi all. I have MTW and the VI addon installed but I can only play MP games with other people that have the VI addon. The problem is far more people seem to be playing with the vanilla MTW with no addons but I'm unable to join in -- I'm just itching for a fight

I know you can get the napolean MOD to run seprately but is there a way to run MTW and VI seprately so I can join into both games, i.e. have a MTW install and a MTW:VI install at the same time?

Not too long ago I uninstalled everything and loaded MTW then VI (inlcuding the 2.01 patch) into the standard Total War Directory.

I then loaded MTW alone into a new directory, MTW Classic (including the 1.1 patch).

I then registered a name for VI and another for 'vanilla' MTW at GameSpy, and was able to switch back and forth between the two.

Make sure your desktop icons straight.

It ate up most of my old hard drive (size does matter). The subtle differences betwen the two versions caused me some confusion, and my game went downhill (if thats possible) so I unloaded MTW, and now run VI only.

Thanks for the advice, MTW weighs in at 1.7GB full install. Nevermind it is one of my favourates. I didn't know the ruleset would be different enough to affect your game ichi, well I'm not very good as long as I can find games on gamespy I'll be happy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
