tools/MTW

i have dowloaded various tools for modding MTW. how do i display the unit icons ie bowman/knights etc as pictures which tool do i require to do this.? i have tried through the program/textures/men. etc but it is only viewable with micro excel and then only words /letters. also how can install more than one copy of mtw on to the hard drive so i dont screw the one up for playing etc. also to which directories should i save the modding tools to.

Greetings Jimmy, you should get yourself a bif reader to read the unit icons and such you can find one on the files download section here at the org, also to install more copies of MTW on your HD, theres a few methods, what works for me is I put the MTW disk in and go to windows/ Add/Remove programs and install through that, cause when you just put the disk in the drive it reads your exisitng MTW and will go to re-install, so when installing the second copy give the folder a name such as MTW Clean etc. I have 6 ciopies of MTW on my HD all in various stages Mods, etc.as far as what directory to put your mod tools thats up to your prefrence I keep some in my documents folder and some in the MTW folder as well, I hope that helped you some mate...LOS

thanx for the reply los. there are 14 tools on the downloads/files for MTW. i downloaded all of them i had problems with hedges[runtime error]. and gnome editor even though i had switched of antivirus software[after scanning and downloading] would not let me open/use it? [mcafee antivirus software]supicious files or not recognised and blocked what i tried to do even though i had disabled it?. out of the 14 on offer which would you regard as esential for modding and ease of use for a novice like me. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif i have removed the downloads from my hard drive i can download again and give you more specific information regards the errors if need be.ps do i not have to upload the tools to MTW program files?
