I run DX 9.0b and have experienced absolutely no problems with VI and I also have Intel Celeron although mine is 850Mhz.
(frantically knocks on wood)
Ive noticed you have Intel chipset - I dont like them, piece of sh*t, my current motherboard has it but i disabled it and installed a GeForce 4.

Revenant69,
Thank you for your reply. I just down load the WESMOD for VI 2.01. Is it worth it?
I am finding it out that the French does not flee Paris once attacked by major force, it defends ME 1.1, the French always fleed Paris if attacked by major force. It normally re-enforced Flanders prior to my 1089 invasion. Would flee Paris to Champlaign and the Final English victory would take place there. I must re-evaluate my early war stratedgy to just taking Flanders and Toulose.

Yes it is. It says that in order to make the game run properly, installing DirectX 9.0 is a must (at least I think so, that's what I remember from when I installed VI) http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

No problem WarHawk1953, I am always happy to help Org patrons - it keeps the community tight and happy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
As far as MedMod is concerned - yes it is worth it, if only for all the units and other changes.
Unfortunately after i had instaled it I had some harddrive problems so i didnt get to play it for very long + I got confused by all the new units with old pictures and used them in the old way http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
But it is definitely worth it. However, I would recommend that you enjoy VI in its virgin form before going onto MedMod - this way you will get best of both worlds.

Revenant69,
Just to see how it looked I installed the Mod.
Problem: Every time I clicked on Icon to start, this would popup
column_building_influence
unknown building as building influence:
{ROYAL_PALACE(100)
Then the game would not load. I guess I will delete the mod and just play original

Weird, I am not a specialist on the WesMod so I cant tell you why its doing it, you may want to post in the Apothecary or something, ppl there will help you fix your problem.
Dont FORGET, follow the steps to uninstallthe Mod http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
EDIT: If you havent played the Viking campaign as a Viking then you do not know what you are missing http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif Seminaked berserkers charging into thousands of enemy troops and slaughtering them all. You absolutely MUSt play the Vikings.

EDIT2: On another note, did you install both parts of MedMod? The graphical one and the text one?
