I am currently playing as the Irish in VI and I just realized that there boats can't go into open water which makes it imposible to attack the viking lands therefore making it imposible to complete the game. So how do the factions without deep water ships attack the vikings.

Aye, you cannot invade the vikings, but if you take everything else you win anywaz, the game is about taking over the British isles. however you can send agents like priests and spies to encourage rebelions, once they happen im not sure if you can bribe the rebels or not, i havent tried, has anyone?

That is very interesting, I have never thought about it before - but of course i didnt play Viking campaign often enough. The lack of deep water ship will definitely make a Total domination kind of hard http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

To complete the Game in the Viking campaign, you won't have to take the Viking homelands, all you have to do is clear the British isles.

It's also possible to send priests over to Norway and convert the vikings so they wont raid anymore, if you get them over 80% christian you will get an event saying they will stop their raids.

I bribed the Vkings Playing as Saxons, I managed to control the British Isles, then I noticed I can't sail to Scandinavia. Bribing was the only solution - eased by 2 factors: one of the Viking territories didn't include any heir, and I owned lots and lots of koku. After bribing (phew they were expensive&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif, I pumped up units to increase loyalty, build up boats, invaded and ended the game.
Notice that the Vikings were already Christian, they didn't raid anymore, and they were expelled from the British Isles after a military disaster that ended with the death of their heirless king. They re-emerged but were quite polite, staying put in there remote up-right map corner, with no fleet to float anymore... untill the got half-bribed, half-slaughtered. Half/half victory, I might say.

well nevermind taking over all the british isles. I would love the chance to invade the Viking back and give`em some of their own medicine. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-yes.gif

u don't need a rebellion, just sent a emissary over to bribe a general(make sure it's not the same province the viking king is in. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-juggle.gif

I initiated a rebellion and bribed the rebels afterwards, it costs a lot of money tough because the lands kept rebelling from me for about 10 turns (that makes 10 bribes of about 3000 florins= 30k florins).
