This probably cant be done but I thought i'd ask. Is there any way to put VI units, factions etc into M:TW. By this I mean install VI then take out the files required to use the units, factions etc. then uninstall VI put M:TW back in and put the VI files into the M:TW directory. I only ask because I love the new units and factions in VI but absolutely hate some of the things that were put in.

Well considering i've got another 4 weeks off work i've got plenty of time so if someone would be good enough to tell me how it would be greatly appreciated, however im not 100% familiar with all the files and stuff so it would have to be explained to me step by step. Basically all I want from VI are the new units and everything associated with the new playable factions ie. there titles and the little speech you hear when you finish a game.

Gazza, what are the things you hate about the expansion? Maybe it's easier to do something about those things than what you are planning to do now.

I hate it when you lose men during seiges and the screen that pops up when you enter a battle. If they can be disabled then i'll be happy.

I don't think those things can be disabled.
But I really don't understand you. Why do you want to go through the trouble of modding vi units into the original MTW if these are you're only problems. It's not worth it.
Losing men during a siege is not "nice", I can understand that. But what is wrong with the pre-battle screen? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

I never play the tactical part of the game because to be quite honest with you it doesn't hold any interest for me and I absolutely suck at it. Now I know that im missing out on half of the game but that's the way I like to play it.

When I was playing M:TW I had at least ten stacks that I just steamrolled over everyone and even when the enemy did stand and fight I just autocalced the battle and never lost more than 50 men but when I auotcalc now it doesn't take into account all the other stacks I have in the province meaning I lose more men. The only reason I got VI was for the new factions and the new units and if i'd know about the changes that were made I probably wouldn't have got it.

Now I know it's probably a long and complicated process but if someone could direct me to a FAQ or site that would enable me to do it I would be very appreciative but if it can't be done i'll just have to uninstall VI and play M:TW.
