strategic suggestions

hi there,

i started this topic for shogun players to send in all there own ways of attacking their enemies,and then i will try them out to see if they are successful.its not just ways of attacking i want any ideas can be neccesary,so please send in

Well, I won't write what I do to attack, in here, because I always do the same, I use only one strategy, and if I told you how it works, everybody who read this would beat me online (lol).

No seriously James, I don't think there is a general strategy to attack an enemy. You always have to adapt to the circumstances. Hills, woods, rivers, the enemy troops, the enemy commander, your own strength, snow, rain, fog, wind, ......
There will never be a strategy that always succeeds except one, and only "... the one" can explain you how it works. I only know it has something to do with wet arquey wedges. I tried several times, but its really difficult to manage that army. And somepeople say (although I cant believe it) that this invincible army can be beaten by the terrible "Thunder Bombers".

Attacking is a difficult art to master.

Use your brains. I don't think anyone can explain here - get online - play Magy, Koc, AMP or any half decent player and learn by experience. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Timing, unit knowledge, grouping, hot keys...so many...

one thing I have found is I allways try to keep a unit of cheap spearmen in every army. I send them toward entrenched archers first in a lose formation to sap of some of the enemys ammo, they allways faulter and run but they can be a real drain on the enemy.
