It doesnt replace any previous factions correct? only
takes the rebels and turns them into factions?

Also what factions are in and I heard something about replacing the Scottish flag? whats that about.

Thank you

The rebels that were in the provences e.g. Navarre, Kiev are replaced, but there are still rebels in the game and certain factions such as the turks and hungary have provences took away to give to new factions such as Armenia and Croatia.

Italians are turned into the Venetians, the Burgundians and Swiss won't emerge.

The super early Beta has many new factions. Here goes: Kiev, Armenia, wales, irish, scots(who have the cross of st andrew, a bit crap it looks but it will be improved like many of the flags, bear in mind its only a Beta), Navarre, Norse, Cumans, Bohemia, Genoa, croatia, almoravids, and i think thats it for early but there will be more for high and late when they are released.

Its a good laugh and gets crazy especially for England and HRE. Go to my site, theres a link on the org main page, theres more info on there. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

The Venetians are really the same thing as the Italians. I think its basically the same faction as the Italians but renamed. They're just called the Venitians because of Venice.

oh well then if they are the same shouldnt they remain the Italians?

Well italy was all broken up and now i added Genoa i thought it might look better with them called the Venetians because one italian faction just wouldn't be right for me.

When did they actually become the Italians? By high period? maybe u can set 1 province to the italians but with alot of troops? its up to u but I would really like to see em in there.

High age? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

My friend, the Italian nation's birth itself, was only in 1861

I believe Garibaldi was the main responsible for it's unification.

Before, throughout the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and even during the French Revolution the Italians didn't exist
They were a confuse bundle of small states, administrated by Counts, Dukes, Princes and some of them under rule by other nations.

really? then why would CA put em in?

Like I said maybe just have 1 or 2 provinces with big stacks be the italians. it wont certainly make me happy :)

Quote[/b] ]really? then why would CA put em in?
2 reasons:

-Sales: an Italian faction is more familiar than a Genovese or Venetian.
-Balance: the states of Genoa and Venice would be too difficult to play in the game.

grr i know lol.

but if u had 1 or 2 provinces it wouldbe gravy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-2thumbsup.gif

Im sure ppl from those 2 factions dreampt of a unification between them and they would call themselves the italians :) http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-thumbsup.gif

I'm trying to get super high finished for the next few weeks, late might be a little longer. Super high will see the Teutonic Order, Crusader states, Portugal, Sweden, Bulgaria and Georgia for the release(I've played as Georgia and it is possible to repulse the Mongols). High will be in Beta.

Are you going to keep the early "super" campaign as is?

The Betas are released for feedback. At some point all campaigns will be released as final form. Factions will be strengthed and units will be fixed. No factions will be chaged for early.

The Italian should be divided in 3 faction in any of the 3 periods :

Early : Venetian, Genova and Pisa (the 3 powerful marittime repubblics)

High : Venezia, Genova and Firenze

Late : Venezia, Milan (or Genova) and Firenze

Their territory were tiny but their money was huge. Private bankers in Tuscany were able to support the 100 years wars campagns.

The Italian Kingdom is really existed in the Medieval times but it lasted for only 150 years. The last King was Arduino d'Ivrea who became a monk in 1011. The kingdom territory was Genoa, Venice, Milan and Tuscany and the papal states
