I can't lose!

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if it might be the result of my inept tinkering.

My idiot chinless King got himself killed in battle. He had no heirs over 2 years old, no relatives, so I figured game over- however, in stead of the usual "you lost" stuff all of my provinces went rebel, I was left with only my bishops, emissaries and a couple of ships and the game continued. Theoretically I guess I could have kept ending turn until my faction reappeared.

Anyway this doesn't seem right and I'm thinking that I might have done something to cause it. I'm running the game using Med Mod but the only tinkering I've really done was to create a couple of Heros for a Heroless faction.

I also noticed btw that before the battle it didn't list my King as the commander although it did announce his untimely demise afterwards.

Any thoughts?

I wanna' get me some of that luck. I have bad luck with heirs. Lost twice now because the King died before an heir matured.

It happened to me too I had a supa-powa-HRE going and wham everything went rebellious and I was left with only the agents. I was flabbergasted but tried to bribe the rebs, my former troops, and it worked Since I had abot 160-170.000 florins I just starting to by back my own kingdom.

Then the French, Pope and Byzantine got busy picking of my former provinces so I didn´t follow through on the by-my-entire-kingdom-back-tactic.

Has anyone done this?

I didn't have those kind of Florins to throw around and they didn't accept American Express.

Glad to know that it might not be the result of my tampering though

I still have that campaign saved and might continue it to see whether my Faction comes back in a really bad mood...probably with another chinless leader.
