Hello Folks,

I have purchased Medieval:Total war just last week, and I love the game. I had no idea that this kind of game was already on the market, or I would have purchased it a lot earlier.

I am from Belgium, age 41, and a long time wargamer, especially board games but to a lesser extent figurine wargaming as well. I love figurine games, but I only have an orc army and some snotlings, and that kind of troops used to be frowned upon by more serious people. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif If I wanted to play something else, I had to borrow other peoples sets http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I have some trouble with getting Multiplayer to start, which is a bit of a downer, since the game itself is great and playing it against humans instead of A.I. was something I looked forward to tremendously. Still, I did some test campaigns to learn the ropes, and then I started an English campaign which is going fine. Still learning a lot of course.

Already I have found a lot of info on this site, and answers to different questions, and I love a good community, so that is why I'm writing this up. I'm getting the Viking Invasion expansion pack next week, and I look forward to exchanging some info with people here.

Have fun,

Hi Pruneu,

welcome to the Total War games series.
I stated with shogon (only SP) and then now i enjoy Viking Invasion (VI) on multiplayer.
For the start play some capains and custom battles (i would suggest play at 10k florins) that you get the feeling.
When u enter multiplayer u will see a new world. The battles are compared to SP more difficult and recuire team skill on a 2v2 or even 4v4.
And the start you will get slaughtered by vets in some minutes but everybody started the game as a noob and some enjoy it then.

Always good to see another wargamer enter the Org, Pruneau. I've played both traditional hex map games and miniatures for many years.

Alletwie he ket :D

Thanks all for the warm welcome. I will try to be on best behaviour, that should make it bareable (just) for you all.

Nice to see more wargamers here. Since marriage and kids hit me, going out on a nightly basis for a 6 hour session of napoleon (my fav wargame) has been very difficult. Whenever I dó manage to get out, I always seem to end up in the pub :)

Once I get this MP thing working, I am looking forward to having my meticulous set-up ripped to shreds :D
