Does anyone know if the Generals (whether of an army or unit) will be able to be distinguished on the battlefield?

Meaning special armor or something?

I saw the picture of the cavalry commander on totalrome.com and I thought how cool it would be for a guy like that to be leading my army http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-party2.gif

A while back CA revealed in a faq that you could target a general (and not just his unit) to bring down the morale so he must be distinguished http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-curtain.gif

If you watch TC on the left of the roman legions you can see a Commander and a Standard while i dont know if they are targetable seperatly they are there - same gos for the Greek's i noticed a Greek commander on the left of one of the hoplite groups in that Alexander battle (the one where the players got alex killed http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-shocked.gif ) and occasionally when you see the Barbarian hordes moving you can spot one who looks slightly different - id hazard a guess that all units have a Commander who can be seen apart from the other men

Yes, hoplites (including phalanx and Carthagian Pikemen) and several barbarian units have a unit leader (the unit leader of barbarian infantry has a flag with a head on it). Legions even have two unit leaders: a centurion (or something like that) and a guy in wolfskin with a banner.

All units have a commander that looks different from the rest of the unit (to show that he is an officer, or rather of a higher birth than the rest). Some of the commanders are 'recycled' other units, however.

Just look at the commander of a unit of Celtic normal axemen. Their commander looks like an armoured soldurius.

Oh and 'the guy with the wolfskin' is a unit unique to every one of your Roman armies (or rather, that's how it should be), namely the Aquilifier, the legion's best solider, charged with the great honour of carrying the aquila. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-thumbsup.gif

anyways, heres a quote from Prince Alex, on the TW.com forums.

Quote[/b] ]The greatest change in RTW will be the new 3-D units which are a great improvement over the "pixel-based" units of MTW. The maximun number of units that one will be able to command are 20 units, and each unit will have a maximun of 200 soldiers. Units will now be a lot more realistic and generals will be easily recognized and will be able to be seprarated and controlled from their corps of cavalry/ infantry.

Does this mean you can control each unit commander separately or target them separately? Or both? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-dizzy2.gif
