Well this must be a special occasion. This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to post on a forum. So please excuse any stupid mistakes that I make getting used to this lark http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-blush.gif (cool smilies; this is all too new and exciting)
Anyway the reason that I've felt the need to post is because of the fantastic community that has developed around this amazing game (Thanks CA). I wouldn't have got anywhere without the essential guides that can be found on the Org (Frogbeastegg and others muchos gratitude) I was unaware that such a gaming paradise existed.
Naturally all the questions that I have been wanting to ask over the last few months of reading the Org have now disappeared from my head http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif But needless to say I hope over the next few years (roll on RTW) I will become a veteran poster (correct terminology?) helping many people as the legacy of sportmanship is passed on, by the fine example made by many people to me.
I may also be bothering some of you modders out there as I've just started to tinker myself and IF I become any good at the game you may see me online from time to time (thats if I can pluck up enough courage to get abused for my naive troop selection or crazy ass tactics). Well this has already turned into a rant so i'll leave it there. Gonna try and remember all those important questions that have temporarely escaped me

Thanks once again to all those in this fine community, three cheers for the Org.... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-thumbsup.gif

...hope this works took me ages to type http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-happy2.gif

Heya *Ringo* and welcome to the ORG http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-party2.gif The admins removed the old  smilie, so i cannot wave hello to you but i can say it: Hello http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wink2.gif

Your feeling of exploration is known to me, I was a long time lurker here at the ORG before I posted my first post and was warmly admitted into the community. You are absolutely right, this is one of the best online gaming communities with good sportsmanship and friendliness in abundance.

Anyways, once again welcome to the ORG and post your questions - if I can answer them then I will do so. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-sunny.gif

Hi Ringo,

I'm fairly new myself, and, like you, this is the only forum I was willing to join because of MTW (well I joined TW.com, but it doesn't seem as friendly as the ORG http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-grin2.gif )Anyway everyone's been really nice and supportive (yuk, sounds sickly doesn't it?) and I hope you get the same good response as I got when I joined.

Welcome Ringo http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif ,
I hope you will enjoy your stay on the Org. It is indeed a very friendly community, and I think this owes in no small part to the fact that spammers and flamers are blocked by the Entrance Hall. The Entrance Hall is also a great place for discussions, even if you are promoted to senior patron or junior member.

Revenant69, you can still use the old smilies. The code you need can be found in the pop-up that appears when you click Help Cards: Emoticons, just under the Enter your post-field. The old smilies are at the bottom of the list.
