Hia there is any chance to play Medieval MP by the internet without connecting to GameSpy??
I think that somebody made a program that could let you do that...

Well you dont need Gamespy Arcade oi thats what you mean? but when you login via the game its still a gamespy server and we have to do that...

But I do remember someone made some java stuff so you could make your own server? I have no idea if it worked.

You can play Shogun and Shogun WI/ME with the "fakeserv" program that was made for that purpose...remember that was Electronic Arts server-- not gamespy.

As far as MTW and VI go, there have not been any succesfull attempts to eliminate the need for Gamespy's server. Unfortunately CA fixed the "backdoor" that was being used by "fakeserv" to avoid the official servers.

So, for now, the answer is NO. I think most people in the community would be interested in avoiding Gamespy...but you can bet that Gamespy's contract with CA anticipates and does everything it can to avoid it.

So dont get your hopes up....we are probably stuck with Gamespy.
