I am so %#%^&$*&^ sick and tired of the crashes to desktop that happen almost every time I hit the escape key to save my game. Am I the only one that has this problem?

Please supply OS, PC details, MTW:VI version number etc. Maybe we can help ?

I have Win2K, DirectX9.0b, AthlonXP, Ge4Ti, VI: v2.01 and all with latest drivers and service packs and have never experienced a game crash.

PS: Also, set your game to autosave every turn, thereby minimising your losses.

I had that problem too. I never did find a solution to it, but just learned to use the quicksave (ctrl+s) before I went into the menu, just in case.

I have it on autosave, but it only does it every few turns. How do you set it to every turn?

I'm using VI, WinXP, Geforce 2, 1.4 Athlon, 512 Megs ram and I downloaded a patch not to long ago.

I guess I'll just have to use CTRL-S from now on.

Open up the menu, next to the strategic mini-map. You will also see other automation options.

It's weird I once had that same problem. One day I just CTD every time i'd hit escape. Eventually the bug just went away. I didn't download any patches or anything. It was really weird.

I've had this happen too. I think it mostly happened when the game had been on for hours. The oddest crash to desktop I get is when I check out the GA for the Swedes (Medmod) during a game. It just crashes right down.
