Morale bonus in unit guides

I have been looking through some of the unit guides, excel spreadsheets etc, and the unitprod.txt file and there is a "morale bonus" field for each unit, does anyone know what this does? it doesnt seem to be base starting morale as that is seperate. Tried searching the forums and couldnt find anything specifically about this

Had a quick look myself & it does seem kinda strange as the range of units that get it are from pikemen to trebuchet crew. It actually looks like the real morale bonus that some units get ie peasants get -2 & orderfoot have 4. But there are only a few entries which only cover about a 10th of the units.
