Here's my random thought of the day. If you were to have an heir rebel in a civil war, and then bribe him back, would he still be in line to the throne? I wouldn't think so but it would be sorta cool if it did happen.

I had a rebellion in STW and my Daimyo became a rebel.

AFAIK Princes (even rebelling ones) cannot be bribed.

Did you lose the game when you killed him? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif

Honestly can't remember.
It was a buggy result and it was one of the first posts I made here when it was just STW, with the screenshot of the Daimyo with the Ronin markings.

Yesterday on my Byz campain i managed to get the french into a civil war, and then managed to bribe an 8* heir - only downside is he's the only one left of his unit after having to fight off rebel attacks in the province i bribed him from. On the plus side he now also has some well good Virtues and valour http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Bribing rebelled enemy princes is a really cool thing.
It gives me some good reasons for invading that country later (as I support one of their heirs - and needless to say always the one to be made a king http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif ).
In game, most of the rebelled princes I supported were German or French.

It sure is, I just wish I could get him some more men. I don't want to lose him but I also want to use him as my general in more battles to get him up to my first ever 9* general http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

You can rebuild his unit in a province where you have a Royal Court, just drag and drop his unit icon from the unit panel into the training queue.

Too bad that you cannot in such case take over some of the contested land and create a kingdom for the poor guy with him as the ruler - that would be cool and would add a lot to the diplomacy model.
In history it happened many times, so why not in MTW http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Tried that but when i attempt to re-train him, it says please construct relevent building - guessing i can't cos i'm byzantine and he's a royal knight http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif Oh well, I'll just have to keep him safely at the bk of my forces when i go to kick the french off the map. Cheers for trying to help though.
