View Full Version : Building Limit
The 16 building limit per province is big issue for me when I have a great armory and/or metalsmith... then I want to train all my units there as they all will have these great attributes.
Do you think that there's a way to mod the game so you can extend the building limit, or better yet get rid of it?

I don't think it's possible. Just build the armories and swordsmiths in more than one province. I don't remember ever filling up the building slots.
But when you're a build-a-holic like me... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

I hate those build limits, I have found that it is possible to get all of the military units squeezed in though first you need to build up to your geisha house, then destroy the tea house and courtyard thingy then go nuts I always Build up my main province as far as it can go then the rest get whatever I feel they need.
If you want to have the ability to train both combat units and agents in the same province, then there won't be enough room for all. However, if you separate the 2 groups, then there won't be any problem. You only have problem when you want to build the Battlefield Ninja Dojo or when you want to build the Trading Post and the Gun Factory where you have the Armoury.
I usually separate the 2 groups.
Combat unit province (prefer those where I can build the Armoury)
1 - Port
2 - Farmland
3 - Spear Dojo
4 - Archery Dojo
5 - Sword Dojo
6 - Horse Dojo
7 - Tranquil Garden (required for Temple. May be demolished to make room once I had the Temple to level 2 or higher)
8 - Temple
9 - Swordsmith
10 - Palace (morale bonus)
11 - Armoury (where build able)
12 - Trading Post
13 - Gun Factory (suppose to give a discount to gun units)
Agent unit province (just dedicate a few provinces)
1 - Port
2 - Farmland
3 - Tranquil Garden (Emissary)
4 - Ninja House/Geisha House (Ninja/Geisha/Battlefield Ninja Dojo)
5 - Tea House (Shinobi)
6 - Trading Post (200 koku/year)
7 - Spear Dojo (optional)
8 - Archery Dojo (optional)
9 - Sword Dojo (required for Battlefield Ninja Dojo)
10 - Battlefield Ninja Dojo
11 - Swordsmith
12 - Palace
13 - Temple
Optional: Mine, I will drop one unnecessary building to build the mine. Not many provinces have resources for both mine and armoury (Aki is the only one that I can remember)
Optional: Border Fort, only build in the border provinces if I want to view the enemy troops. I use Shinobi/Ninja as anti-spy for the rest of the provinces. Once I can train Geisha, I will no longer need the Border Fort.
I think I missed a couple of buildings, since I only use 14 slots. Or the building limit is less than 16? I remember that I usually can't train Battlefield Ninja in the same place with the other combat units.
Pdoan,
Unfortunately, the building limit is 12.

Thanks Ludens
That's what I'm wondering about. I remember that I usually have to demolish something to make room for the Gun Factory and the Battlefield Ninja Dojo always have to be built in the same place with the Ninja/Geisha House.

you must play with what you want
pdoan8 is right this is the best way to do it make ourself our choices.give each territory is purpose( e.g-where you have horse bonus put a strong bet in cav, things like that m8)

Basicly here is what I do, first I get a Gesha house then delete the garden and tea house and build up my cav, archers, and infintry. so it looks like this->
-Gesha house or make sword dojo and infamous ninja dojo so you can get battle field ninjas then when you need to delete drill dojo and build the battle field ninja dojo and when it is build delete imfamous ninja dojo and rebuild drill dojo.
-Sword dojo
-Horse stables
-Archery range
-Spear dojo
-Gun Factory
-Palace
-armory
-sword smith
-budist temple
-drill dojo
-and for the last one either trading post or port which ever if I feel like keeping my deal w\ whoever I accepted the gun offer from or if I want quick transport of my units.
this is basicly the most efficent way of making an army province. well hope that helped.
