View Full Version : So...Did I win?

Quite often, when fighting a battle, the enemy troops will flee from the battlefield completely (meaning they are no longer shown on the radar), leaving me standing around doing nothing. If I quit out then I am defeated. If I just sit there nothing happens.
Is this a glitch or am I missing some fundemental victory condition?

i think they rally somewhere, where u cant see them,...in woods....maybe..or far away...

i think ur attacker in Single Player campain, so they dont come to u, u have to move behind and to kill them or bring them outa the map...

Oh yes, sorry. I was referring to when I play individual battles offline.

You could be right, actually. I'll have to try it. Thanks for your response.

In the WE you also have to be careful of "stuck" routing troops. I learned the hard way to check everywhere. Say the curser says 3 YS are running away, but you only see 2. The other guy may be at the far end of the map running in place, at the edge of the water or cliff, ect.

Certainly in single player I think the battle should be won where there are no more intact enemy units. I've lost battles when the whole enemy army is fleeing and my army clearly holds the field.

The second problem is "lone" survivors in the woods. They are damn annoying, and again far too often clearly could never be considered to be a challenging force. Does anyone have any suggestions for this problem?

There is definitely a problem with some of the "rules of engagement". Under Shogun, I don't think there's anything they could do unless they want to release a patch which changes the way victory is determined.

Hopefully in MTW there will be something like an auto-victory where if you have something like 200-1 odds against the other side the battle is declared a victory and ends. Nothing like losing because there was _one_ archer picking his but on a forested hill somewhere while you hade 500+ troops left in the province.

Err.. I'm an artist. I wasn't really involved in the music side of things. We had Ministry of Sound do the music for XG-3... which was nice. If you like that kind of thing.
