Ok, as compared to the Vlad vs. Wallace thread.
I'd say Qin Shi Huang
The Qin crossbow bolts shall pour like rain.

Greek phalanx armies were pretty good at fighting Persian archer armies.

Hahahahaha
This is a hell of a dilemma Honestly
You should have made a poll though... It's more fun http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-yes.gif
Now seriously, I can't compare them.
My knowledge of chinese history is a little vague but i think that qin lived a few centuries after alexander, didn't he?
If they had lived at the same time though, they would still have had to cross india to meet with each other, wouldn't they? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

That does'nt mean its good against chinese armies...
the usual campaign size army of the chinese was 100,000,the bulk was crossbow based.

I'd put my money on Alexander; he confronted a variaty of enemies using a variety of tactics and was successful against them all, including all hrose armys like the Sycthians.

Well Chinese armies were quite a bit larger than 100,000
100,000= the avg. number of casualties in your avg. battle

I've seen it last week on French-German cable channel ARTE. Very good. Some amazing photography. And the size of armies was impressive. Even with ROTK style special effects nowadays... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wink2.gif

Ahhh, OK. Thanks Aymar. Need to broaden my horizons. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I guess, numbers being equal, I'd pick Alexander because of his versatility. He defeated everything that came between him and the end of the world, no matter the armies composition or leadership.
