Colours For Starting Positions

Well when u choose a colour before battle,i was wondering if it effect where ur starting position is on the map?
ie Blue 4v4 in Attack?
ie Blue 4v4 in Defend?
Does it matter as i've seen somewhere it does http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/confused.gif
If so how does it work?

It does.

When you enter a battle on the top right side of the screen you see 8 clan mons and you have to select one. According to the one you select, you will be given your position on the battlefield.

In order they are:

White (Ronin), Green (Shimazu), Red (Mori), Yellow (Oda), Light blue (Imagawa), Black (Takeda), Purple (Hojo) and Blue (Uesugi).

The first one in colour order will have centre, the second will have left and the third will have right. The 4th one (in a 4v4) will be just ahead of the second (left).

Imagine we are in a 3v3.

Side A

If Player A picks white he will have centre.
If Player B picks Yellow he will have left.
If Player C picks Blue he will have right.

Side B

If player D picks green he will have centre.
If player E picks red he will have left.
If player F picks purple he will have right.

And so on.
