View Full Version : End of Game Stats?

Yet another pathetic installment in my epic campaign for complete poll dominance in the Colosseum.

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/handball.gif

I for one was a bit dissapointed when I completed my first campaign win in MTW and didn't get any scores or stats on my performance.

Here is just a few things I would have liked to see:

-avg kill ratio
-number of enemies killed
-number of battles won
-numbers of battles lost
-provinces lost
-unit with most kills (what was the most useful unit in your game...ie longbows, billmen etc)
-units lost
-generals lost
-money spent on construction
-efficiency ratio (number of enemies killed/money spent on unit creation) not so sure about how to calculate this
-idle units (units that didnt do anything for most or all of the game)
-artillery kills
-units lost to assassinations
-enemy spies/assassins caught caught
-assassinations failed and successful
-number of crusades/jihads
-number of battles won with inferior numbers (having 15% of less units than the enemy)

These things would not be very hard to implement and would be very nice to know. That way you could see where you went right or wrong.

So lets hope ... for those who want them.

IIRC CA planed to put this in MTW, but i guess they decided against it due to release time. However i'd like to see it, maybe an end game list.

id also like some progress graphs as well, ones that show relative size of empires armies, navies agents etc. These should be able to be accessed while the campagin is running too

Or CivIII style where they play a minimap in fast forward, showing the gains and losses of provinces. Watching that slow, green monster take over the map is entertaining.

I second Alrowan's idea. To be honest, I never finish a TW campaign so end-game stats would be no use to me. However, more information during the game would be nice. It could be linked to your number of spies or whatever - kinda like Homm3, where you learnt more info the more taverns you controlled.

A quid pro quo might be less information on the map screen - even with a priest in an enemy province, you should not be able to know exactly how many troops in a stack the AI has. Maybe just the number and type of units - not their strength, upgrades, valour etc (Or at least make such increased fog of war an option). I guess the biggie is whether you hide leader's command, as that has a massive effect on the battlefield. Probably keep it visiable, as the game is now. (Afterall, Napoleon's name was worth 40000 men).

seems like most of the people want stats, personaly I want to know at the very least my kill:casualty ratios. I would also like just a lot of other things those little details are very interesting to me..

The current post battle stats are enough for me.

I really like this feature, it gives you such a sense of accomplishment.

I'd like the stats mentioned in the first post too.

You've forgotten the 'Gah' option http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Otherwise, yes, I would like to see stats about how I did and a replay on the minimap.

Spreadsheet it'll be just like playing Master of Orion 3 but more fun

I loved that too, it'd be great to see that in RTW http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

Sounds like a great idea. While i know some generals build up stars over time, it would be nice to track them better throughout the game.

What I would also like would be more complete end-of-battle statistics - you only get stats of the last 16 units on the field. What happens to a good unit of archers that run out of ammo and get withdrawn? I have never figured out how to find out how they did... conversely, which enemy units did the best?

It seems the Yes vote is running away with it.

With this great desire for more stats, and the ease of programing implementation to track a few numbers throughout the game. This seems like a thing that SHOULD be in RTW.

If not a nice little patch to MTW. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif

Also: I to would like to know how those archers I withdrew from the battle did. I have no idea why the end of battle stats can't show all units that participated.

Well, I agree about the stats, even if I'd want more an overall view over the situation of every state even if it didn't remained untill the end. Military power, financial force etc. The kind of report that you'd ask after a prolongued war about you and your opponents.

Not quite the same subject but what if your soies could feed the enemy false information.

If you have a spy in both your and your enemies neighbouring provinces and they either don't have any or yours are more experienced. They could misinform about troop numbers, eg tell them you have only a few troops when in fact you have two full stacks waiting to invade.

Just a thought http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif

Give us EXCEL: TOTAL BORE http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Actually, I'd want as many stats as possible, not only post-battle but also in-game (provincial, imperial etc.).

Actually, EXCEL: Total War sounds nice http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

In the options menu there should be an option to create battle logs. This saves a txt file that has a complete list of the units in a battle and how they did it doesn't show the units valour but does show how much valour each men got for that battle.

Also is the Civ III stats anything like Civ II's stats and graphs?

Wouldn't know, never played CivII. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hi,

Perhaps overkill, but how about a proper History? Granted it would be rather detailed (understatement) but surely not difficult to implement. Would include Rulers, great generals, dates of battles, results of battles, troops involved. Territory changing hands for all reasons in fact. The whole thing in fact. A 'diary' if you like. That way we'd get a true feel for what happened in the game.
And this would of course be for ALL factions (the computer must know what's happening in the bits of the map we can't see, after all).

OK, like I say, overkill maybe, but I'm a sucker for that sort of thing...

Too much???

Cheers.

I just want to know how many hapless little men I slaughtered in total during my entire campaign...

Its sure to be an intersting number to see http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
