Just joined the forum and wanted to say hello. I've had MTW since it came out and just recently got the VI addon. I've also got Shogun however I never got the mongol invation addon as I found Shogun (for me) was unbeatable in anything but on the easy mode. I now regret not getting the mongol invasion addon as I like certain aspects of STW better than MTW (the music that plays when you win a battle rocks) I've never played MTW on multi or STW for that matter as I've never been able to log on. Oh well, I love the strategy of the game too much to let that bother me By the by I usually play GA on expert and have never lost an empire. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

The TW series is great. I tried STW, not with the Addon, but I found MTW more interesting, even though I like Japanese Samurai's, Ronins, etc.

Actually, Mongol Invasion made Shogun easier, as it stopped the AI controlled clans from deficit spending. This means that they couldn't set up those enormous armies any more because they, too, had a limited budget.

Welcome Larsanator, your horse will be placed in the stables for now. now how about a drink? well we have a few fine establishments here, the Mead Hall and the Tavern.

The Mead Hall is were warriors come from all walks of life to tell tales and sing songs of forgotten glory, but the drink is a bit strong. The Tavern is our other drinking place, we get goods from the Sultans of Egypt to the Khan of the Mongols, even though its Total war, here we come to discuss world events and have a drink to relax. Just watch the flying bottles it can get pretty heated in there sometimes.
