For my mod I am planning on have emblems on 'Shields' to represent the faction/ Province.

I.E. Norman units (specific) will have differnt shield emblems than other French provinces. Does anybody have any such images....

What I plan to do is have Pavise units for specif provinces, knights etc.....

Any help would be appreciated.

The Corsica flag is widely anachronistic.

The other ones are as good as any.

For Normandy, I always thought that there was 3 lions...

The Norman Flag was the same as the one of the king of englands for most of middle-ages for obvious reasons...

sure it is but theres no armories for corse until 1789, you can put genoa flag if you want.

Normandie is 2 lions (crouching or standing up and facing each other), Richard changed his flag of simple duc de normandie (showing he is still a vassal of King Philippe Auguste) to 3 lions in 1198

still concerning the corse flag, "widely anachronistic" is not a term you can use. this symbol was in use (slightly modified : 4 heads and a cross) in the 13th century by kings of aragon and was exported to corse by some local princes. As theres no local flag in the medieval era , you can either use this one as the most common symbol on local barons armories (during 14th c. genoa-aragon war for corse) or those used by successive foreign rulers of corse (Pisa and Genoa).

Hey Shades how do you plan to do this, name specifically each unit to a provence? How is it done. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

What the plans are are as follows....

Certain units will be generic, ie Crossbows with Pavise. Therefore I will have a unique crossbow units per faction, this unit will have it own nations emblem on it shield.

Other units will be province specific, ie Gascon Knights, Norman Knights, Welshspearmen etc. These will have their province flag on their shields and not the nations flags...

This image should give you a better idea, Of what im talking about...
