View Full Version : A question about SetTreasury....
When you edit the SetTreasury lines, does it effect only the players starting treasury, or does it effect the treasury of AI controlled factions as well?
I consider giving each faction 500000 florins, so they don't go broke and produce hordes of peasants.

That would difinately make the campaign a lot more interesting. Give it a go :)
Sorry, I couldn't edit my post or start a new topic but I thought this thread is to do with programming kinda so what the heck.
Anyway ...
When I change CRUSADER_11 and put my own faction into anything it says:
Unknown faction specified
FN_IRISH
I thought I had done all of the required work and my faction is playable ... just not in battles ... but do you know how I can make it regonised the Irish as a faction?

I don't know the answer to your question.But I think new patrons should post their questions in the thread at the top, "New Patrons Welcome to the Dungeon".The questions of junior patrons are answered there.

i'll answer here for you, having seenall the good work you do at .com
i've always thought the best way of getting it recognise new factions was to utilise the FN_FREE09 and above factions, i mean thats partially what they are there for.
however i do know people have done it other ways, so its possible.
have you properly declared the new faction as FN_IRISH? or maybe (unlikely) that there is some conflict with the VI IRish faction,though i can't see how as that uses an FN_FREE slot

Do you have the VI expansion?
If so, maybe you should search this forum. I know there is a thread on how to add new factions in VI. Basically, it comes down to this: when using units that can be build by a new faction, you should use a new unit and building production file. Just copy the old one and rename it.
