View Full Version : Can IkonBoard handle name changes
I started to wonder. I registered here in June, 2003, (after a long and eager lurking behind) to do a search within the limits of the Org (Google is useless ye know, during my MTW searches it managed to kindly direct me to the 25 most hot XxX-sites network, as you might guess, I wasn't exactly pleased when my PC recieved a load of tracking cookies and now I can't use my older email adress cause of that crap).
Well, now I just came back after two months of absence and couldn't figure out my older account's password or not even it's name. Fortunately, Gregoshi helped me in start by locating my older account by a some sort of a trick (ip-track perhaps?). Now I wonder if there was any way to change that older account's name? I know it's possible on some forumboards and types, but I don't really know about the IkonBoard. Now, I probably would have posted this topic with that older account, but because I can't manage to have the Org's password tool working I prefer this one for now.
BTW, has anyone faced any kind of problems with the Forgot your password? tool? My problem is that I haven't got any mail from the Org and the first post I recieved in June has been either terminated by my mail-dot-com or simply deleted in accident.
Doh, if flattering helps me in achieving my goal (whole world bowing before me, hey Caesar had to do some flattering for the senate http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif ), then I can honestly say that the Org has deserved it's reputation in the internet. Noticed long time ago but never found enough free time or suiting words for posting anything reasonable.
Cheers, Quessa.

We have a reputation? You mean people from other parts of the internet (and even outside the TW community) know we exist??

Quessa, if you are having problems with the forgot password tool, I could get Tosa to push an email out to you. As long as you can get the email from the address associated with the account you should be okay.
As far as renaming an account, it can be done and it makes sense if you have a posting history under that name so as not to lose your post count. However, your old account has no posts. It may be easier just to create an account with the name you wish to use.
I can ask Tosa to send out an email and/or rename the account if that is what you wish. Just let me know. Regarding a change in account name, please do that via email.
Oh, and flattery is not needed here. Just be sincere and civil. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-yes.gif
Hello Quessa,
A name change is possible. There are indeed problems at times with retrieving passwords, most commonly the account getting deactivated.
An e-mail to tosainu@totalwar.org has solved all account problems so far. Could you please use the e-mail you used to register the other account?

Hello Tosa. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
Sent an email to TosaInu, thanks for caring about me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif . Looking forward to a long and nice time belonging in the Org (as an user of course, don't care about my twisted sense of humour that tries to act like one).
Gregoshi, you might find me as some kind of a moron here, but I always tend to hold my older accounts close to my heart, it's kinda bad habit of mine.
Cheers, Quessa.
My rotten luck, message wasn't delivered by that stupid mail-dot-com. I sent it again, hopefully no need for one more after this attempt.
Cheers, Quessa.

Quessa, I don't think you a moron. The care and concern you show to your internet accounts is...loonie http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-dizzy2.gif Just kidding. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif
TK, what are you going on about? And why does your avatar have white wings sprouting from its head? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wings.gif

I received a request to change an account, but that wasn't yours. Your mail probably bumped again?

TosaInu, I try to send it once more, but if it bumps back again can I then send you the same thing from different adress?
Cheers, Quessa.
