Yes....

"Robert the Bruce" will be the name of the human or computer general (see LOCAL/ARTIFICIAL).

6 6 is the faction number code as defined in MTW (this case Scots). If you wished to have two factions allied with one another the second 6 would be replaced with the
faction number of the other allied faction. Otherwise make the same as the first number.

Example: 6 7 - faction 6 is allied with faction 7. You will be able to control BOTH nations during battle.

LOCAL - This player is a human.
ARTIFICIAL - This player is a computer opponent.

"Scottish" - Actual file name for the army definition file
(ADF) which defines the actual unit characteristics such as type, number position etc.

0 - Undocumented as far as I know (I always leave as 0).

FALSE - Player is the DEFENDER and will be attacked.
TRUE - Player is the attacker.

xxxxx xxxxx - Starting camera coordinates for the battle.

XXX - Starting camera facing 0,90,180,360 etc.

PAGAN_CULTURE - Culture of player as used in MTW

Hope this helps...

Does anybody know wether

IntroFMV::""
OutroFMV::""

means that movies can be included for historical battles? Or is it just a leftover from an earlier stage in the development? Also what should be the format of the movies and where do they need to be located to work?

Thanks for any answers,
Duke John

Welcome to the ORG, Tommy1950 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

My most humble and gratefull salutations, for making your first post answering to my question http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/ht_bow.gif

I'm altering the battle of Bannockburn to make a more realistically historic battle. I have enough tactical info to make a much better battle. This battle will have 10% of the forces involved in real life. The real battle had 15000 Scots (with 8 schiltrons) and in excess of 50000 English (still looking for more info about the exact number and types of units involved). I'll make do with 1500 Scots (4 schiltrons) and more than 5000 English. But for that to happen, I have to have 2 English armies (the limit for each army is 3200 men). It will be a little slow in older PCs but worth the trouble... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wink2.gif

I will also mod Hastings, Stirling and Stanford bridge if I get enough correct information. I'm also thinking of doing some other Historical Battles of other countries. Like Las Navas de Tolosa and alike...

So, if I want to make an ally to Edward II I can put:

Player::"Robert the Bruce" 6 6 LOCAL "Scottish" 0 false 23159 32289 102 PAGAN_CULTURE
Player::"King Edward II" 5 5 ARTIFICIAL "English" 0 true 37771 37198 269 CHRISTIAN_CULTURE
Player::"John de Warenne" 5 5 ARTIFICIAL "John de Warenne troops" 0 true 37771 37198 269 CHRISTIAN_CULTURE

Then the army of John de Warenne would be an English army commanded by the AI and with the same English colors, would't it be?

Or would I have to use:

Player::"Robert the Bruce" 6 6 LOCAL "Scottish" 0 false 23159 32289 102 PAGAN_CULTURE
Player::"King Edward II" 5 5 ARTIFICIAL "English" 0 true 37771 37198 269 CHRISTIAN_CULTURE
Player::"John de Warenne" 0 5 ARTIFICIAL "John de Warenne troops" 0 true 37771 37198 269 CHRISTIAN_CULTURE

0 beeing rebel colors, because the game does not suport two armies of the same faction?

Since nobody answered, I might risk an opinion.

I think it's possible, and if so, the files should be in the folder of the specific Historical Battle. Because the "Scottish" and "English" files are acessed from there.

As for the format, I have no idea... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-confused.gif

Maybe the same as the intro. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-help.gif

I think that nobody answers your resent question is, because I guess nobody knows how to add an intro and outrovideo.
So you could be a pioneer in that area.

There was somekind of mixup. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-dizzy2.gif

Greetings Aymar de Bois Mauri: http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-oops.gif

Sorry - I missed your question (haven't been in this topic for awhile). If you still need an answer to your question...here it is:

Player::"Robert the Bruce" 6 6 LOCAL "Scottish" 0 false 23159 32289 102 PAGAN_CULTURE

The above spec declares a human (LOCAL) general (Robert the Bruce) faction 6 (using a ADF of Scottish) defending (false).

Player::"King Edward II" 5 5 ARTIFICIAL "English" 0 true 37771 37198 269 CHRISTIAN_CULTURE

The above spec declares an AI (ARTIFICIAL) general (King Edward II faction 5 (using an ADF of English) attacking
(true).

Player::"John de Warenne" 0 5 ARTIFICIAL "John de Warenne troops" 0 true 37771 37198 269 CHRISTIAN_CULTURE

The above spec declares an AI (ARTIFICIAL) general (John de Warenne) faction 0 allied with faction 5 (using an ADF of John de Warenne Troops) attacking (true).

One further note - if you specify an allied faction to the human player's faction - THE AI WILL CONTROL THE ALLIED FACTION. This adds an interesting twist to the battle. Sometimes the AI controlled ally will stand and fight - sometimes run.

Tom Sims http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Although, I had found the way through trial and error.

Yes, it really makes battles more interesting.

I'm making a historical campaign. I was wondering how I can make it so my faction uses other flags for the campaign. It was done for Bannockburn but I can't figure out how to do it with my campaign.

Edit:
NM, figured it out. Sorry. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
