Help,
Ive been looking for some 11th century reference maps online. So as to Mod the Early Start position as accurately as possible. There are lots of them ...but none that show castle locations...so far. Has anyone got any web address's for 11th century Maps with castles represented and if possible fortified towns and cities on them. If not I'll go shopping, but was trying to avoid spending the £25 for the book I've got my eye on.
Many thanks for any help,

Well, Nomad, I have visited a few sites with great map collections, yet none so far with "castle" positions. The actual problem is that by the 11th century, there were virtually thousands and thousands of castles all over Europe, so if you would like to "accurate", you would still need to decide which castle you will make the "main" castle for the certain province; that is not as an easy task, considering the feudal nature of the Europe at that time period.

To my experience, on those little maps are no greater discrepancies concerning the castles, with an exception of one castle, the "Belgrade-castle" in Serbia, which should be way up north. For my own in-house mod, I've changed its position to the following coordinates

SetCastle:: ID_SERBIA 18088 14250

Other than that, I wouldn't know how to help.
