Howdy,

Is there a way to transfer men from one unit to another? Say, after a battle you have two units of the same type at 50% or less. Can they be put together or do they have to be retrained to get back to full strength?

Also, when notified that I have disloyal generals, but have no assasins, or daughters to wed them off to, what are the other options? Can I delete the general but keep the men in his unit?

Thanks. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

- select their stack, select and drag one unit onto another unit of the same type. You can re-fill your fully upgraded cav with an identical (but un-upgraded) unit. Units with leaders who have either a 1+ command rating or some V&V will not merge into another unit. If you merge two units whose combined manpower is lessthan/equal-to a full unit, the unique commander will always be in charge - which could be bad if he's got some bad vices.

Disloyal general: assasinate them, marry them to princesses, drop a spy on them (try them for treason), disband (whole unit goes bye-bye), or put them in a stack with a more loyal and higher command general. If you can't do any of the above (mebbe he's a real high commander on a volatile border), put him in a stack by himself. Generals are more prone to rebellion when they're leading big armies.

Excellent. Thanks. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

Mind you, I'm still out of this V&V business. I read somewhere that some generals have V&V like, ahem... young men or what have you . But I've never seen any of this. ("And that's a good thing": Martha Stewart)

To use a lousy general's good troops you can always move his troops to another general's troop.
Example: You have 2 princes, one good general with 5 men left and your bad general has all 20 left.
Left click on the bad general's unit and drag it to the good general's unit.
Your good general will have 20 men and the bad one will have 5 left.
I always supply my good general prince with troops of the ones that aren't in command of an army, gotta keep your prince on his toes http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

scroll down on the page with the general's picture and you'll see the V&Vs.
