How would I go about changing the build time for huge unit sizes to one year? The sole reason i want huge unit sizes is for larger armies, because my computer can handle huge armies. one thing that bugged me is that each unit takes 2 years to build. How would i go about changing this?
If you type .worksundays. (with the points at front and end) while on the strategy screen, everything, building and troops, should only take one year.
Cheating? That's up to you.
I think he is looking for modding options. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
What you can do is this.
Change all units that have a Yes at 'scaleability' to dounble size and change that Yes to a No. Naturally this will take some time and you might miss a few and a lot of problems can happen.
Well remember that you need to play this at normal.
Oh fine, roll your eyes at me. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

This thread is about being able to use Huge unit stacks without 2 yrs training time. Although your question is somewhat different, the solution is the same:

actually, .worksundays. works only on buildings, i tried it on one of my games that wasn't going so well i dont think there is a CHEAT that lets you do that, but, everything thats not hardcoded is moddable... but if ur looking for localized effects... i dont thnk there is a cheat for that http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif still, cheating is cheating http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-policeman.gif hey you, scumbag, get those hands on the hard drive, dont move http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
I find this has a couple oif interesting effects. One is, you might have a significant general you can no longer retarin, and so he beocmes a 1-man unit... which is strangely appropriate.
Secondly, I think of these 1-man units as a sort of inactive unit for which all the traditions etc. still exist... one day, they will live again
And lastly, in Huge units the 1-year build time is a major saving, and so you can keep single-man units scattered about which can be retrained in relatively short order, giving a cheap defence in depth.
