View Full Version : Problem with MTW- computer hangs while "thinking"

I'm having a slight problem- the computer seems to hang slightly when thinking between my turns. I have VI with the latest patch, with MedMod. This only happens in the MTW campaign, not in the Viking one.

Any ideas?

Also, I noticed Vikings have access to Chinese infantry in the Viking campaign- is this a MedMod error?

By hang slightly do you mean the game freezes?
I probly can't offer you any solid advice but does this same problem happen with vanilla MTW?

It doesn't freeze, but the faces of the other factions` leaders stick at the bottom and thinking flashes across the screen continuously for about 3 minutes. Makes the game a bit slow.

The Danes control a lot of the map- could it be them?

This never happened with vanilla, but it only happens in this campaign.

It sounds like the problem is related to Medmod, maybe search for posts like this in the mod forums, it might be a known issue. I don't use Medmod myself.

I also notice the ai can take a long time to think when using MedMod. It might simply be that the ai has more to think about at times when using this mod. I'm at year 1271 in a MedMod v3.12 campaign with 7 ai factions remaining, and the ai thinks for about 1 1/2 minutes on its turn. I loaded a several save games from earlier in this campaign, and the ai thinking was 15 seconds or less. However, I do remember seeing some long turn times during this campaign. I have a 2.0 GHz AMD cpu and 256 MB SDRAM which runs at 266 MHz.

I have an unmodified HRE campaign going in the late 13th century and the AI can ponder for 30 seconds sometimes on my Athlon 2000 XP with 512 ram.
