Hello all, great site, found the read this 1st post very helpful, must admit, I am still reading it.
My main problem is I have had the game since early december and just recently it keeps crashing when in battle mode and the pc is resetting itself, the microsoft critical error says its a driver but cannot determine which one. I am using Windows XP pro, anyone got any ideas what could be causing it ?

AMD Athlon XP2000+

The error you get when clicking on the Nvidia tab is not good...usually means something is corrupt/missing in your windows installation or video driver installation. That can happen for various reasons and isint just a newbie mistake

If a quick fix is possible:I would uninstall and re-install your video card drivers and see if that fixes any of the problems. Also try re-install of Direcy X and possibly go up to Direct X 9.0b even tho your card is of the DX7 generation.

If still no joy, then unistall MTW and make sure you delete the entire folder afterwards before re-installing it and directly after (before playing)defrag your hardrive(s).

If none of these work, well your having some bad luck my friend http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif You might have to re-install your OS (windows XP) and reformat your hardrive that contained the windows system files. Try the other things first

Another thing you could try is lowering the hardware acceleration one notch - I m using XP home and have no probs with MTW but had to do it for other games.

hope that helps
