BBC2 have just started showing a new series. Tery Jones's (He of Monty Python fame) Medieval Lives. The first one was last night about the lives of peasants. Very entertaining and interesting it was.
Next week Monday 16 February 8.00-8.30pm BBC2
Terry investigates the truth behind the cloistered Medieval monk. The ideal of giving up the world for a life of prayer and isolation was all too often undermined by the monks' ability to make money out of almost anything.
Sheep, iron-smelting, exhibiting the 'relics' of saints and even prayer itself, all turned out to be money-spinners in the big business world of the Medieval Monastery.
Just thought some of you Medieval nuts would enjoy it.
Another series for those that get BBC America should campaign to have shown.
