Allright as most of you know I like smaller battles (offline anyway, online I find them fun, but with the ai I find them simply tedious.)

I figure I can just raise the cost of all troops dramatically so they are harder to comeby. Maybe rasing building costs aswell (but prob not)

How do I do this? I've got "0" clue.

Thank You

Change the support costs of the units in the CRUSADERS_UNIT_PROD11 in your totalwar folder (best use gnome editor or something). Youd better change support costs since then there are really fewer units. Also if u change the units cost, u'll get a lot of money after a battle (which you won of course). I once changed the costs of peasants to really much, but after defeating some rebel peasants i soon found a huge pile of florins in my chest.

The Gnome Editor is in the MTW Files section, or the Downloads section, both off of The Org main page. With that, or with Excel, you can change anything you want. You can change the build cost and the upkeep cost. If you like smaller size units, you can reduce the unit sizes in that file too. So like you can shrink spear units to 50 men, archers and swords to 30, and cav to 20 or whatever.

If you're trying to tweak the game such that the unit deploys fewer units, but still normal size units, well I'm not really sure if you can do that without screwing other things up. I mean, increasing the two cost variables might do that, or the AI might decide it has to spend less on buildings so it can spend what it costs to build build armies...who knows.

Personally, I like smaller battles, and maybe even smaller units, though the smaller unit sizes also affect routing formulas and such I think, as those might use whole numbers and not % of unit size, I'm not sure about that.

Thanks, ya Im not sure what to adjust.

I like smaller battles. Normal size units though, so I guess its gonna be tuff to try?

I figured just raising unit cost would work but I guess not?

Use the 2nd server not the 3DDownloads. No waiting time there. You also have a link to files on top of the forum page "Your Control Panel :: Chat :: Files :: Log Out :: Notes :: New Posts "
