Lately my game has run into a serious crashing problem.
It tends to crash when going to the menu, but that happens to everybody for some reason http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-no.gif so that's not what I'm talking about.
This is far worse as it can END your entire campaign at once.
Here is what happens:
Sometimes the game gets into crash mode where anything you do will crash the game. If you finish a battle, it crashes before going back to the world map. If you auto-resolve, it will crash just the same...if you hit auto-save in the prebattle screen, it will crash Sometimes if you have more than one battle in a turn it will only start crash mode after one battle and before another. (Meaning one battle will work fine and any action on the second pre-battle screen will cause a crash, be it command, auto-calc, abondon, or retreat)
An interesting thing to note is whenever the game goes to crash mode....one or both of the reinforcement buttons underneath the troops in the pre-battle screen, are not there when they should be. Interestingly enough if I keep reloading and crashing over and over, the presence of the buttons changes...sometimes mine is goe, sometimes his, and sometimes both.
Some crash tendencies:
Every time it has happend I have been fighting while both of us had reinforcements available.
Every time it has happend, I have used Ctrl + L to load an on-map Ctrl + S save from the turn before.
If you reload the turn before you will get the same results unless you move your troops differently, but not if you load TWO or more turns before OR if you change which troops attack that one provence. The old problem army can attack a new provence without the crash.
When this all started, I had just begun doing two things differently: 1) I started using the Ctrl + L and the Ctrl + S on the world map, and 2) I started using MedMod.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no luck.
Any ideas?
