this is a reprint of a post i just made elsewhere. to the moderators in this forum, please leave this up for a few weeks. i've posted this in selected forums to try and reach a majority of our community. feel free to copy it elsewhere.

Quote[/b] ]i was watching tech tv last night. a new vulnerability has been found in windows xp. this one is bad in fact, it's being called the worst one yet. this is one that is similar to the blaster hole in that all you have to do is be online and you're vulnerable. it's not just an email attachment thing. this one is a live virus/worm vulnerability.

you can expect to actually start seeing attacks as early as 2 to 3 weeks from now...sooner, if someone found out about this than the guys that did.

there is already a microsoft critical update to handle this, so, it's time to update windows again, folks.

for those wondering about whether firewalls will block this, i have no data. i didnt hear the full report. however, you can go to www.thescreensavers.com and find the text version of the show notes and that answer shld be there.

get patched now and avoid the rush....and corruptions to come

K.

thx,

K.

*has windows updates set to download and install automaticly.*

*also has Norton downloading and installing on auto too*

If you want a luagh open Kazaa and try to download a 1.3mb Divx file with over 200+ people sharing it.

its a back door bot that lets hackers on your computer but norton catches it every time.

i love those 200+ people, cheap gigling and fun making makes me happy at their expense.

odays (sp?) knight? ya gotta love odays, those little backdoor programs someone tries to stick on your computer. glad norton is wise to them.

Thx Kraelin, I wanted to make sure I downloaded this one before the bad guys put something nasty out but I kept forgetting about it. Seeing your warning every couple of days sure helped
