When do Switzerland and Burgundy emerge?

I am about to play a German_HRE high GA campaign and want to be prepared when these bastards steal my provinces so I can destroy all my armouries and stuff

They'll only emerge if province loyalty is low, same conditions any faction re-emergence needs. They don't appear like the GH. IIRC, if they do appear, the conditions have to occur in their home provinces, not just in the area.

I think Burgundy is between 1380 band 1420.

The swiss is a little earlier....

Swiss are easy to get appear, just let Switzerland rebel and they will pop up at some 1300.

Is there something wrong with me, I´ve never seen Burgundians appear, although i have played MTW since it was published?? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-help.gif

Ive only seen them appear in one of my games. Hehehehe, I was turks and both Burgundians and Swiss appeared in the rear end of HRE and gave them hella of alot of headache http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif

Every time I played a faction that controlled these lands they never appeared. My loyalty is always very high.

I once saw them appear within 2 years of each other. Burgundians died ignomiously at the hands of the Aragonese and the Swiss stuck around long enough to be swallowed by the Almohads.

I had much the same experience, except Venice and points east were in Turkish hands, so I was using them as a buffer against the (remnants of) HRE and France.

I was very pleased, as I have been waiting a loooong time to see the Burgundians. I think the presumption is there will be a lot of fighting in the area and the province will likely not have much infrastructure. I suspet that the patch change to prevent buildings being destroyed by a beseiging army has reduced the frequency with which structures are razed and thus tyhe probability of a Burgundian appearance.

I might try deliberately conquering Burgundy and leaving it to rebel when my current game hits 1380 then. I've never seen them appear before.

Saw the Burgundians for the first time 2 days ago. A civil war in the mighty Aragonese empire caused both the Swiss and the Burgundians to emerge on the same turn.

Seen them loads of times just defeat the french and germans so badly the empires crumble and they should appear. The swiss are in the main campaign in late I think just not selectable as a faction.
