When u get support from a unit on ur flank etc.If this unit does not engage with the enemy, does it cause a morale boost to the unit thats engaged in battle?
Does it also make this unit fight better?Or just effect morale?

Hi FasT,

The supporting unit does provide a small morale boost to the unit in front of it, but no combat help. There are some other benefits. If close behind and out to the side, it covers the flank of the fighting unit, so that unit will not suffer a flanking penalty even if an enemy unit is in a flanking position. Also, the supporting unit could be adding to morale penalties on enemy units just by it's presence.

Useful tips mate. Anyway depends on the heat u take. If the enemy sends all the combat units on battle and there aren't any kore units to flank u with then use your remaning units to flank if your main line is doing well. If they other guy has some reserves then support your flanks.
Also depends on the enemy you have.

When fighting the mongols I tend to set my units up in a curve so that to flank them you have to get practically behind them. With the greatest defence in the middle. I also avoid the mass ashi route by putting them in pairs far away as possible from each other so they don't cause a cascade... instead I get mini ones in which they tend to rally.

Interesting formation there.
I shall even try it and see if it works. Anyway the AI usually rushes your main lines.
