View Full Version : Editing an Infantry unit into cavalry unit

alas i can't post in the alchmiest lab, so here goes

i'm trying to make Saxon Huscarles buildable as a *mounted* unit in reg MTW campaign, not VI. That part works, they are normal in VI, and I can build them (as English). But, when I enter a battle, there is a horse with a disfigured guy sticking out the side http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif Now, I now this stuff happens when something is editied wrong. So I go back and realize that I never changed their attribute to cavlary http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif . I realize there are a few of these mistakes and correct them accordingly. But, its still messed up. All I did was basically copy the exact line of the Viking Raider Cavlary and inserting it into the Saxon Huscarle line, changing only cost, stats requirements stuff like that. The Huscarles have the models PESTUCAV and LiHorse, and their weapon attribute is sword.

Basically as far as I know u can make a completely new unit of cavalry called Mounted Huscarles, but if u want them to look like huscarles your up for some heavy modding....

its really that hard? I thought it was a matter of changing models and changing wherever it said infantry to cavalry. I might as well make a new unit. thx though
