My formations in ofensive dont exist (still see what i can use).
But in defense i make formations, the funny, when the clash beginsmy formations go to hell and looks like a pub fight.
somone can tell how to fix these.
How when i am in defense and the enemy clash to my pointunit sometimes i send units to help them .
Cav units i used to scout and flanking atacks our kiling ranged units.

Like i write still working in formations.

YsYsYsYs
As As As As

Legend:
Ys-yari samurai
As-archer samurai
yc-yari samurai
Gen-general

This is one of my usual formation in open fiedl .
I put always my general in safe locations in the begining of the battle.

Hi,

What if the other guy has shooters too?

Your YS with be arrow/bullet fodder, have your missiles at the front, keep YS out of missile range, when they get hit, it hits their morale too.

Try using 1 NC on the flank and 1 YC on the other to intercept incomming cav and then send in YS as support.

This is how I would/may set-up:

SA Musk Musk Musk Musk SA

NC YC CA
YS YS ND ND ND YS

Gen (NC)

Just an example.

Mine would be more defencive:

SA SA SA SA
YC YC
NG NG NG NG
ND ND ND
GEN

Use YC (yari cav) against other cav; make sure they got good honour. NG(naginata) need to be high honour too and hold formation. Use ND (no dachi) to either support centre or go to flanks; these can be lower honour.
SA fire at enemy musks/SA or fire at enemy infantry.

Basically it is simple strategy, the high honur centre holds up lots of enemy while the lower honour units flank.
