Okay, so I hear all this cool stuff about berserkers.

I own MTW w/VI but have been playing MTW. I read a FAQ saying I could get berserkers in MTW and VI. Now my question is HOW? The book says rebel only? Some people said they built them in other threads?

How do I get them?

Try the Viking campaign, as the Vikings... or the Picts (or is it Scots?)

if they are anywhere i would think that the danish would be the place to look. try starting a campaign with the danes and see what you can see.

In the regular MTW campaign you cannot get them. they are rebel only, however in the Viking campaign you can train them. Of course modding would fix this, but thats another topic.

There is always hashishan in MTW. They can take on anything 1 on 1, can hide anywhere, and have bows...

I don't have VI, but perhaps you could try bribing a general who has berserks to get them?

they are rebel only in regular game and appear only in scandanavia or norway I believe. in the vik campaign, picts and viks get em.

either way, they rock. kill through couple level of peasants and spears and then you have invincible berserks.

BTW, they gain valour really quickly just like any 12 man unit.

mod them in with gnome editor and add the build reqs in column 17. viking bersekers row is towards the end.

that's true, if they don't die before reaching the high levels of valour, they get deadly... it's a shame they last two years to recruit, if my choice is between Huscarls or Berserkers, i tend to take the former... even Joms Vikings (also 2 year building process) are 60 man unit, which makes the wait worthwhile

you can only train berserkers in the viking era as the vikings and one other faction.... i think...... picts i believe in the regular game (vi only) you can bribe them, (a little like sherwood foresters)

Yep pretty much you only get berserkers in viking era dude with the picts and the vikings,
