The game freezes

I'm experiencing a problem with Medieval. Sometimes in the middle of the game, when I press Esc to save, the game freezes and I have to reset the PC.
When I try to replay the turn and press End year without saving, the same happens.
Has anyone ever experience this problem before? And please, if you have any suggestions on what I could do about it, tell me

Yes all the time. I have a suggestion: Quicksave before you end a year or press escape. If it crashes, load the game back up, load the quick save and save.

Make sure you dont have any stuff running in the background... that could be the cause of random freezes

Also before saving you may want to be sure all building and unit making queues are cleared, I don't know why but this works in some cases...LOS
