Like the Viking Invasion, focused on an earlier period, why not a late game period. (e.g. from 1453 to 1700)

Does anyone know any major wars or events that would be popular. As the VI focused on England another area of Europe would be good.

Maybe a Byzantine Empire expansion (which you can play VI on without having to switch CD's), and it has like more than 100 provinces from Italy to the Middle East. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If the game was delayed taking people off the RTW game to make a ex pac for a by then ancient game would be Suicide for CA.

Well, ... In the interim, I can try the many mods people have produced to date.

Still have to REALLY play a few factions. Plus, the mods are still untouched. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

I hope they don't delay it again, but I also hope they don't release it with missing features or stuff that doesn't work right.

I especially hope they don't release it with those *#$&@$#*$# CTD's http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-furious3.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-computer.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-furious3.gif

maybe they should release the source code for mtw if rtw gets delayed, that way there will be some serious modding going around.

there are plenty of mods out there to keep your Total War skills honed until RTW comes out, whever that may be. unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of any real interesting new games out there to try out if one needs a break from MTW or STW.

A Byzantine expansion/ Reconquesta of spain would be a good idea for another expansion.

I would guess that RTW WILL NOT be delayed. Prob be out for Christmas.

Theres still room for historic mods, rather than mods that change the gameplay.

Like the sometimes-discussed War of the Roses mod, I think there is room for "small stories" rather than the grand sweep of pan-European history.

If they were to make another expansion then they may likely take people away from the RTW team, and we don't want that. Let them finish what they're working on. What am I saying let them...they'll do it whether or not we want it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif and I doubt theres anyone here that doesn't want them to finish. No, one expansion is enough, its time to move onto bigger and better things imo.

How about a "Special Edition".

I bought the Panzer Elite "Special Edition" and it included all the available mods. All you needed to do was download the updates from the Mod authors.

"Fall of Rome 2.0 mod" has a good Byzantine campaign that starts around 570 AD and you can also start the game even as the Romans around 430 AD. The game-map is still the same but a whole lot of new units. I enjoyed it
