Possible Idea for the "playable" Papacy

Ok, do you think someone would be able to edit some of MTW's files and make it possible for the human to take control of the Papacy and issue orders/give warnings/excimunnicate like the ai controlled Papacy can?

I mean it may be difficult to pull of but if the ai can do it then it must be programmed somewhere right? Maybe someone can figure out a way to access it for the human, I mean heck we have all these sweet mods coming out so this should be possible?

I think you will find that most of the AI commands to do with the Papacy are 'hardcoded' http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

If you do play as the Papacy without modding any of the current files they still give Excommunications out, the Italians attacked me when I was messing about and they were excommunicated for doing so.

Yes. If you make the Papacy FN_MAJOR rather than FN_MINOR then when playing as them any attacks on your realm does indeed lead to excommunication. Although I didn't play long enough to see if realms fighting eachother still causes excommunication. However, let me make it clear, you can't excommunicate anybody, the engine just excommunicates realms that attack the Papal States.

understood. that is what i figured was meant. thats why im looking for someone who can possible hack in to make it possible for us to do it ourselves.
