I see crop rotation is one of the upgrades, but is this historically correct?

I thought that crop rotation began during the Middle Ages? But I could well be wrong...

Not many people interested in agrarian issues, huh?
I am no expert for that subject, but as far as I can tell, I read about crop rotation in ancient Greece for the first time, though it may have well been done before that in Mesopotamia as well; they did true wonders with irrigation systems and likewise, hard to think they didn't figure out the crop rotation feature. I know that most of the Greek fertile soil was used up and that they were having real difficulties with the excessive exploitation of the land, so they were forced to improvise and start applying the crop rotation technique.

I think it began to be widely used in northern and western Europe in the Middle Ages, but the sistem was running since BC.
