After playing for couple of weeks with Polish, who, by now own all the eastern part of the map, including North and South and Scandinavia, i decided to try the Vikings Invasion. Of course, obvious choice was to play with heroes themselves, the Vikings. Here are my thoughts/ musings after few days of playing. (hard diff setting)
My Kings are very virile, each and every one of them... at one point i had a king that took over at 17, and had 14 (that's fourteen) sons... However in all this time, i've only had 1 (one) princess...
After raiding every country apart from Welsh, and amassing something like 100000, and upgrading my homelands to maximum (with two main bases, one for my troops and for my fleet/agriculture) i slowly began to work my way south from Orcades. It shouldn't be too hard, as at this point i have Joms, about thirty units of high level huscarles and some other goodies, plus my fleet is all over the place.
Historical battle: somewhere in Scotland, huge Irish army decided to get rid of my king. 562 vikings, including one archer unit, couple of merc mounted nobles and high valor huscarles and landsmen to top it up against 5900 Irish gallowglasses, kerns, dartmen, mounted nobles, peasants and bonnachts... i won this battle, losing all but 30 people but destroying more than 3000 of his, taking over 1500 prisoners... i think that was the en of Irish, and the highest point of my campaign :)
well, i guess my point is: Vikings rule
