Anyone know of a good share- or freeware picture editing program and has a link to it? Thanks

Paint shop pro 8:

You can download a shareware version (60 days) at:
Paint Shop Pro 8 trial version (http://www.jasc.com/trialreg.asp?pid=K-PSP8-USDIR)

Antalis, I knew it was going to be you. Thanks I DL it moments ago. Since I have your attention, do you have any links to some satelite image archives? I know you guys used a satelite image for HTW. Thanks in advance

Try this website http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif :
Satelite archive (http://213.206.75.86/earth/)

You have to add the pieces to one big image: Use "Paste as Transparent Selection" for this in Paint Shop pro ("Edit/Paste/Paste as Transparent Selection").

Uurk It must´a taken you guys ages to put together the HTW-map this way. The satelite images are really great in detail but there´s really difficult to navigate the map in that dark part of northern Europe. Is there maybe a smaller version of Europe only somewhere?

The earth image of the link is splitted too in 2 or 3 images: You could save them with "save image at" with the right mouse button.
But the resolution is not very good, if you want to zoom in to make Europe larger, and Europe is again splitted between two images.

Sorry don´t know such a complete Europe image without clouds and with good resolution.

Earlier I found two satellite images of a cloudless Europe, both by ESA (European Space Agency):
Pic1 (http://esamultimedia.esa.int/images/envisat/Envisat_Meris_Europe_mosaic_hi.jpg)
Pic2 (http://esamultimedia.esa.int/images/EarthObservation/svERSEUROP.jpg)

There were others as well in their image gallery.
